About the Art

Our journey began with our passion for collecting PNG (Papua New Guinea) art many years ago. As a family business, we first came to PNG back in 1966. And since then, we have always been drawn towards the “creative spirit” that embodies the many and varied art forms that exist throughout PNG.

The Gallery continues to evolve today where we now have Artists in Residence, namely Frank Eafeare and Gickmai Kundun. We are extremely proud to be involved in their work which includes Gickmai Kundun’s landmark metal sculptures throughout our capital city, Port Moresby and Frank Eafeare’s work for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Papua New Guinea is full of fascinating art as old as the culture itself. This vast treasury of art and legend has created a background of inspiration and creativity for emerging PNG Artists.

We continue to discover new artists and new work both contemporary and traditional from all areas of the country.

Uniquely Papua New Guinean, The Gallery’s vast stockholding of artwork includes limited edition signed prints and photographs as well as original artwork in all mediums.

Complimenting our stockholding of artwork is the range of carvings and pottery on display – each piece is unique, hand crafted by it’s maker here in Papua New Guinea.

Unique Designs Combining the Culture & Art of PNG

Our range of jewellery have been inspired by the diversity and richness of the PNG culture and their art. Each piece is hand crafted, offering both contemporary and traditional designs. Various pieces combine natural and traditional materials like shells, pearls and bone. The combination of gemstones, sterling silver and gold settings further enhance the uniqueness and beauty of each individual piece.

Inside The Gallery PNG

The Gallery enables our local artists to exhibit and sell their work both locally and overseas on a continuous basis. We are honoured to be the first to do so and support the “local art community” as a whole.

It is hoped that the artwork displayed and presented here at “The Gallery” will continue to develop and promote our Artists and in doing so, help preserve the unique gifts Papua New Guinea has to offer the rest of the World.
